A few of the neutral comments I used to receive back 2 years ago, back 102 pounds ago, back before I woke up. I found the magic equation to change my life and finally lose the weight like a normal person and so can you. No crazy diet, no spending HOURS a day at the gym, nothing like that. I learned how to cook healthy and delicious meals, created with what I want that sacrifice no flavor or satisfaction, nor use handfuls of ingredients that I had never heard of. Combine my new cooking skills with regular amounts of exercise and  plenty of sleep and WHAT DO YOU KNOW?!

Flexing Selfie Team Never Going Back

Crawling turned into walking, walking turning into, well… tripping and stumbling on the treadmill… and that turned into a full on run! My name is Ashleigh, and I used to be unhealthy, unhappy, and 60 pounds heavier. I fully believe that food and exercise shape your entire life, your feelings, and your emotions. I believe that exercise can heal and prevent injuries as well as help solve emotional issue like depression and anxiety. That cutting out all carbs is an unrealistic goal and healthy food can also be food you crave, without using ridiculous, hard to pronounce, uncommon ingredients. I believe these things because they worked for me.

Hi Im Ashleigh

First of all, thank you for visiting my site and taking some time to find out about me and what I’m all about. I started Team Never Going Back in May, 2014 the day that I graduated from Modesto Junior College with an AA degree in accounting and realized that wasn’t enough. When I started pursuing my accounting degree, it was what I wanted at the time, but over the years and most recently this past year, I found a passion much stronger and I began to follow that path instead. What’s that passion, you ask? ME! I am passionate about ME! Improving and challenging myself in new ways to better myself and the people around me is ENJOYABLE. Watching my body change based on what I do it is EXCITING to me.

If you knew me about three years ago, you knew that, well… I couldn’t cook. I could barely follow the instructions on a box of Mac ‘n Cheese correctly; oh, I could also eat that entire box. Because I couldn’t cook, I ate out. A lot. Every day. I’ve work in restaurants for as long as I can remember and that too, has surrounded me with food. I also did not exercise. At all. I guess I had no reason to… no reason that I could see at the time.

Meet Robert

There is no beginning and there is no ending, so I will try and keep this short because I can ramble on about him for hours. When I met Robert, I had just started trying to lose weight so no, he did not make me lose weight. I did not want to be thin for him, he did not pressure me to be thin, he was just there at the right place and the right time. He did however, inspire me to learn how to cook. He knew more than I did in the kitchen and I began to develop a strong desire to impress him… to wow him… to take care of him… to feed him. Okay, that might be a little to much, but in a nut shell.. I had a desire to be a good traditional wife and cook for him! So I did — and I failed many times. Food was undercooked, overcooked, went bad, spoiled and anything else wrong that could happen in my kitchen, happened. But he ate it all with encouragement and continues to test all my health-conscious recipes that I come up with. So thank you, for being my guinea pig.

Our passion for snowboarding that we share brought us to Mount Bachelor in Oregon, December, 2013.
Soon after this picture, he proposed.

Whats Next

I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to do while I was sitting on the football field at graduation, but what I did know is that everything that I had accomplished regarding my health was important. I felt good — different — and other people started to notice, too. People via Facebook and Instagram started to contact me with questions, all that I had answers to because they were about me and what I had done.

At graduation in May, I said, “I am never coming back here!”

Here we are, just about 3 months later… and I have a full class schedule back at MJC. Only this time, I am taking classes that I am excited about! I’m pursing a degree in Health Education. Now, a year later, I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and plan to go the school to continue my education for the rest of my life. The only way to go is up and I plan on going as high as my mind will allow me.

Please feel free to leave comments and send me messages; I love hearing from you more than you know!

Thank you!
